Cat is a visible thought and practice leader in using data & design for social innovation, spearheading new methods and sharing these widely, including a TedX on data and design and co-presenting BBC Radio 4’s The Fix series around design for social good. As a Director at social design and innovation agency Uscreates, she combines 12 years of Government with a post-graduate education in design to tackle tricky social issues and deliver impact on topics ranging from preventing homelessness to increasing physical activity. In Government, Cat worked between the Policy Lab and the data science teams in GDS and led a participatory design project to create the first Government framework for data science ethics and has written for the Royal Society’s Philosophical Transaction.
